All In God’s Timing

All In God's Timing

All In God’s Timing

What an amazing day!  A day that I will never forget.  Every Christian Mother longs for the day there child decides to ask Jesus into there heart.  This was that day for my little Roo (who is 6 years old)!

All In God's Timing

From the time I found out I was pregnant with her I have prayed every night this prayer: “Lord, help me to be the Mom she needs me to be.  Help me to be the example of the Godly Woman she needs to see and to guide her to YOU!”  I will pray this prayer for each of my children each and every day until the day I die.  I’m sure I will add to it some but it will always be my base.

I definitely remember asking Jesus into my heart when I was very young (all several hundred times).  Yep, I was THAT kid.  You know, the one that went to the front or raised her hand every time a Sunday School teacher said, ” Does any one want to ask Jesus into there heart?”

So I was very confused when I asked Roo the very same question and she says, “Um, no not today Mommy.  I just don’t feel like it.”

What??  Am I doing this all wrong?  I mean don’t get me wrong.  I don’t want my kids to just mindlessly say yes.  But, I was honestly surprised that she said no.  I really didn’t see that coming (I thought all kids just say yes like I did).

So for the next three years, when the time seemed right, I would ask Roo if she was ready for Jesus to live in her heart and she would say – not yet!

I would be totally lying if I said I wasn’t worried a bit.  Am I not showing her Jesus’ love for her?  How can I help her know this awesome God I love so much?  Lord HELP me bring her to you!

But then I remember – It Is ALL in God’s Timing!

September 20, 2011 was God’s Timing!  We were going over her Bible Verse: John 3:16 (which she had memorized the year before).  Each week we spend time breaking down her new verse to make sure she truly understands the Bible – not just memorize it.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.   {John 3:16}

“What does eternal life mean?”  ~  Well, even after we die our souls live on.  If Jesus lives in your heart you your soul will live in heaven with God, Jesus and every one else who loves Jesus, forever and ever.

“Well, how does He live in my heart?”  ~  All you need to do is ask Him too!  Just one simple prayer letting Him know you love Him and want to live your life for Him, the way asks us to, and He is right there in your heart – FOREVER!

“Mommy, I am SO ready for that!!”  And way we prayed!

I am so amazed at how she came to this decision.  She truly seemed to think it through and come to this on her own reasoning.  I feel so blessed that God allowed me to witness my daughter choosing to come to Him!  Thank you Lord!

Love Life, Love God, Live For HIM…

  1. @Rebecca – Thank you! Just such so awesome to be apart of it!
@Mother Mel – I’ve had this blog for about a year and a half now. Is there any thing I can help you with?

  2. Hi there Meg, I am curious to know where you found your badge for your site. I am the person who set up a non profit organisation iKhaya LikaBaba – home for orphaned and abandoned babies and that image was designed by a developer and given to our organisation almost 5 and half years ago. It concerns me that this is on your site.

  3. Are you talking about my little house? I just saw it on your site. It’s just from a templet on a program I purchased from Office Max a couple of years ago – My Logo Creator. It’s all pre-made you just plug in your name – I’m not that creative or talented. Were you told it was exclusive?
