Becoming an Intentional Homeschoolin Mama – Planning

Planning
This just might be my all time favorite thing to do – planning!!!  Getting out all those pens, calendars, schedules and planning your day, month and year!  Woo Hoo!  Now that is an awesome time to me!  But some times the follow through is not as exciting to me.  So here are a few tools I use to keep me FOCUSED on my plans!
Planning Your Homeschool Day
I use a combination of things to schedule our homeschool days here.  For Roo I use Homeschool Tracker Plus on my computer to plan and organize her day.  I can schedule everything, create lesson plans, record grades, and create any report I may ever need for her.  I started this in Kindergarten so that she will always have a complete record of her transcripts ready and waiting.  I print out her lesson plans weekly and away we go.  It truly is so handy!
Here’s a screenshot of how Roo’s school day is planned out on Homeschool Tracker Plus.
For Boo I still use the old hand written style for two reasons: One is she is only 2 years old and I’m constantly tweaking my schedule and learning plans for her.  Two – I just really needed a reason to purchase Apologia’s The Ulitmate Homeschool Planner by Debra Bell!
Seriously – This is the greatest written planner ever!  I love the way Debra guides you through the HOW TO PLAN section.  This has truly changed how I plan our homeschool year, month, week and day!  If you’re just starting out with homeschooling this is one of those “must haves” for you!
I also created a few homeschool planning {FREEBIES} for you!  Just click on the images to download.

Mama Planning Time
Now that you’ve planned your homeschool day and you see the amount of time you truly need to complete your homeschool days, it’s time for YOU to FOCUS on your time.
Groceries?
Errands?
Appointments?
You’re the Homeschoolin’ Mama of the house – you have a very full schedule to keep!
I’ve always kept a basic daily schedule written down for myself.  Well, for as long as I can remember at least!  I find it incredibly helpful to have a scheduled plan for my day (and I mean EVERYTHING in my day).  I use this page (download by clicking the above image) as my plan/goals for each day of the week.  I spend some time on Saturday mornings, when the kiddos are playing, FOCUSING on the up coming week.
Where am I going?
Who are we seeing?
 What needs accomplished?
Once I have it all scheduled out – it goes on our fridge – best place in the house!  Think about it.  How many times a day do you look at the fridge?  Keeping your schedule right up in your face is a great way to make sure you are truly keeping yourself FOCUSED throughout your day!
What your some of your tricks you use for keeping your day FOCUSED?
