Start Fresh

Start Fresh

I’m so excited – we are back to our routine! We get to start fresh! Tell me I’m not the only one that truly misses the scheduled life? Don’t get me wrong, I love my down time too. But a few days into it and I have no idea what day it is anymore and I feel a little…well…lost.

It’s been a month since we started back to homeschool after our Christmas break. Well, we started back to homeschool and our dance schedule (and then added co-op back in last week). It’s a crazy busy life at times. But I can truly say I love it.

For me, the schedule all nice and neat in my planner, color coded for each kiddo, keeps me focused. I keep us on task as a family better. Even more productive with my time. I know to some it sounds horrible and like I should chill some, but I wouldn’t change a thing.

Do you get excited to get back to your homeschool routine too? What about it do you like most?

For me, it’s knowing we’re starting fresh. Like, anything and everything is possible. By the time we are hitting that Christmas break we are all in need of it. The kids are so over the sit down and study part of school and quite frankly, so am I. Plus the excitement of the holidays really doesn’t help the attention span either. And let’s be honest, the attitudes can tend to go down hill too.

But then the new year rolls around and you begin planning again. Maybe change up the curriculum or daily schedule a bit. Add in a little fun baking projects to (not at all) help with your diet. You’re rejuvenated and ready to pour into those kiddos of yours again!

Ahhh…yes! Getting back to our schedule is a wonderful crazy part of life!

What do you do to refresh your homeschool after a nice long break?
