Because I am a homeschooling, stay at home mom my husband has the great responsibility of taking care of our entire family financially, on his own. He is happy to take this on (he loves that I’m home with the kiddos) but I know it is a stress for him some times too (especially in this economy). So when I saw Ashley’s post about her 31 Days to Pray for Your Spouse – I jumped on board. I so wanted to join all these women and help pray for all of our husbands.
For where two or three gather in my name, I am with them. Matthew 18:20
I have to say it feels wonderful praying for my man intentionally. Knowing that I am talking to God about him every day – with a real purpose! But I have to say, I am surprised at how much I am growing spiritually through all of this too. Not that I didn’t think I needed any help or growth – so far from that! I’m just surprised by how much I can feel God working on me as well. It’s a wonderful feeling!
But, I do have to admit – it’s been a difficult 17 days as well. Life has become … well … complicated, all around us. Things have become overwhelming most days and we have felt more than a little crazy at times. But I think that means I’m on the right path. I mean, if we are growing closer to God, do you really think Satan is going to let that happen with out a fight? Um, no way! So, things get overwhelming but we are growing closer to God. And do you know what? The closer we get the less overwhelming this life is! The less time I spend worrying about stuff! Because we are giving it to God!
I am praying for my husband because: He is a Godly Man, a Honorable Husband and a Loving Father!
And I want him to continue to grow with God!
